Down to Earth

ColourPop Down to Earth Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, all-matte, neutral eyeshadow quad that leaned warmer, deeper, and more prosperous overall. All four shades were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The most significant “con” was that the formula was light to moderately powdery, so using a more delicate hand or tap off excess. They were more of a velvety matte, which gave them a denser, more substantial feel.

Grounded is a light-medium brown with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque primarily, buildable color coverage with a soft, blendable consistency that was somewhat powdery. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours. The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.
